Traveling

Jamie got back late last night from visiting with mom and dad in Florida. She enjoyed herself. I booked my flights yesterday. I leave for Florida on March 6th and return on March 10th. That will be right in the middle of dad's treatments, so hopefully I can provide some help and/or distraction. Looking forward to nice weather.

Danny, Josh and I had a great birthday dinner with Jamie on Tuesday. We celebrated at Longhorn Steak House. They brought out a delicious dessert and sang to Jamie. She’s flying down to visit my parents in Florida this weekend. She’s looking forward to getting away and Florida is a great place this time of year. Mom and Dad are excited about her coming down and are planning things to do.

Dad will start his first radiation treatment on Wednesday, March 4th. Then he will have one on March 6th, March 9th, March 11th, and finish on March 13th. I’m going to try to fly down to visit with them during this time. I’m looking to get my tickets now. Please keep dad in your prayers.

I will be a vendor at an all day Scrapbooking Crop Fundraiser. Mt. Harmony Elementary School in Owings, Maryland is hosting its first Scrapbooking Crop Fundraiser. The Date is Saturday, February 28, 2009 from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. You can come for all or part of the day. Registration is $25.00 and includes your cropping space, lunch, dinner, baked goods, and beverages, as well as a Goodie Bag, chance to win Door Prizes, and a surprise Raffle. I'm so thankful it's Friday! Have lots to do to get ready for the crop next weekend.

Jamie's Birthday!

January 17th is my daughter's birthday. My baby girl is no longer a baby anymore. Seems just like yesterday she was born and I was holding her in my arms. I'm very proud of who she has become and and very thankful that she is in my life. One of my most favorite pictures is of me sitting up on the bed, holding her on my chest and both of us are sleeping. Happy Birthday sweetie!

Update on Dad/Couples Retreat

I just spoke to my dad and he goes tomorrow (Friday) at 11 am to get the markers for his surgery. He will then go to the Radiologist Oncologist on Wednesday for a CT Scan. Then he will get the markings on the outside of his body. He waits 2 weeks (either from tomorrow or Wed) and then goes for radiation on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Monday, Wednesday (or equivalent days). He is feeling a little anxious today. Thanks for keeping him in your prayers.

Joshua continues to do better. Thanks for your prayers for him.

Danny and I got away from last Thursday through Saturday to Ocean City, Maryland, for our churches Couple's Retreat. Got some nice pictures of the sunrise again. Our speaker was Tom Harmon and he was great.

This past week my head felt like it was gonna blow up - went in for my sinus problem again. Sometimes I feel if I can just insert a small needle in my head and let some of that air out (air head, I know) I would feel much better - but can't do that! Have an appointment in March at Walter Reed with a sinus specialist.

Joshua update

Joshua had a doctors’ appointment last Friday (1/30) and had another appointment this morning. He is continuing to improve. He goes back to the doctor on Wednesday. Please continue to pray for healing in his eye and for the situation with Workers Comp.
